i have nothing to add to this

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

  1. This is really beautiful. By the way, thanks a lot for all the recommendations the other day - I think I haven't had as much appreciation for Stephen Fry as he deserves before I started listening to his podcast (yesterday).

What I've been wanting to ask you for some time now, because it is what I am thinking a lot about these days is, what are you planning to do after you finish school? Do you want to go to university? Where (I think you mentioned something about studying abroad...)? What subject? Or something completely different?

I'm really curious because I have absolutely no clue what to do. Thank you in advance :)

  2. First and foremost, thanks for another lovely comment!

Well, I'm applying to different unis in the UK. I'm hoping to do a joint degree in history and Spanish. I might also be applying to unis in Sweden or the University of Helsinki as backup options. I'm definitely a uni kind of person, I'm not really considering anything else.

I'm applying to pretty prestigious unis, so we'll see if anything actually comes out of this... I'm absolutely terrified, needless to say!

  3. Thank you for the answer :)

I am considering history, too. And I'm sorry to bother you further, but what are you hoping to do after university? :)

  4. Well, I'd love to get a Master's degree and then maybe do a PhD. My family includes a fair share of academics, so teaching at uni doesn't sound like a bad plan to me at all. And to be quite honest, what else could I really do with a degree in history and Spanish than teach? ;)
